Comments

Ranges from the west coast, around the Cape to central Natal. Common in Cape waters and follows the sardine run into Natal. Processed for 'fish jerky' in Gans Bay. Caught by anglers, commercial fishers, and in Natal shark nets. Angling record 192 kg; spearfishing record 71.2 kg (Ref. 12484). Also Ref. 244, 5485.
